Direct sow, cool season crop

Cultivar

Georgia Southern

Sowing the seeds

Sow ¼ inches deep and 3 inches apart.

Thinning

Thin to 12 to 18 inches as the collards grow to give a lot of space to develop.

Harvesting

Can harvest individual leaves as the plant growing or harvest the entire plant.  Collards keep best if the leaves are cooled quickly after harvest by submerging them in ice water.
